As my trip get's closer and my excitement grows, so do my fears of the flooding in Venice.
Whilst flooding is common in Venice for this time of year, Venice is now 70% under water now. The high tide mark has reached it's sixth-highest level since 1872. Currently the level is 149cm and thankfully starting to recede...
I am counting on the water going right down before you get to Venice.........I insist it does for you & Paul!!!!! You're not meant to take a gondola in the town...only on the canals!

Another travel tip: Dress in layers because you will find that inside buildings etc can become quite warm.
