Kensington Palace Trafalgar Square & a Squirrel......

Day 5 in London, so this is our last full day in London. What a day, the coldest day we have -3 degrees. It was that cold that at 11am there was still ice on the leaves, & the lakes even iced over......

We did washing this morning & on our way back to our hotel we noticed a lady carrying lots of groceries in orange bags, i looked at the bags then looked behind us and there was a supermarket & the end of our street.... Up until this point we thought it was a Hotel as we always went to the supermarket of a night about 1km further up the street...We cracked up laughing at how close one was all this time, just at the corner about 200m away...lol

Frosty leaf brrr........

Off to see Kensington Palace & Kensington Gardens, this was nice seeing a palace in London. Seriously we had frost bitten feet & numb fingers as we entered this palace. We had morning tea at the Palace.

We wondered through the rooms and learnt about Queen Victoria & Prince Albert, she was very interested in painting & drawings of her children & husband Albert.

When we moved into the next room and saw Lady Diana it was very moving & a reminder of how she changed the way the royals were looked at, she was the most stylish & photographed Royal of the time, and her untimely death was felt throughout the world. She lived here from 1981 until her death in 1997. This is now the official residents of William & Katherine. There is a memorial circle in Kensington gardens & fountain for Diana & this is where we came across the local squirrels!!!! Paul was mesmerised by them as they approached him for a treat.

Christmas bauble, one opens everyday at 2pm.
Like a advent calendar, to reveal a surprise.....

Cute little Squirrel.......

Lovely old bridge we walked under at the gardens.....

We then headed for "Harrods", this was certainly a must do when your in London. The class of this place is truly amazing. The window displays at Harrods were all set from Disney stories, people lined the streets looking at the truly magical window displays. This was Ariel's display from the Little Mermaid......

Last stop Trafalgar Square, we spent most of the day on red double decker buses. We felt like we were on a monopoly board as we passed Park Lane, Mayfair, Trafalgar Square, just to name a few. We wanted to see the lighting of the Christmas Tree..... It was so cold & with my glasses fogging up, meant I wasn't going to see much anyway. So with a few pics of the tree & the square we called it a day......
